This is how you will get notified of images being available after the event is complete and allow you to view/order their student's pictures. This system completely replaces the need for paper order forms on picture day and allows our photographers to focus their full attention on capturing quality images for your school.

Dear Raleigh County Schools Parents and Guardians, On Monday, April 8, 2024, it is anticipated between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM that our region will experience a partial solar eclipse. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the sun and Earth, blocking all or a portion of the sun’s rays. Medical professionals advise it is always dangerous to look directly at the sun without appropriate eye protection. Out of an abundance of caution, Raleigh County Schools (RCS) will be taking extra steps for your child’s safety. •RCS will follow a regular schedule on Monday, April 8, 2024. •All schools have been encouraged to share the solar eclipse viewing experience with students by utilizing television feeds or internet live streams. •Resources and lessons about the solar eclipse are available from the West Virginia Department of Education, NASA, and other science outlets. •School staff will advise students of the dangers of looking directly at the sun at any time, especially during the solar eclipse. •Students will not be permitted outside for any activities other than those planned and approved by the principal during the hours of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This includes recess, athletics, band or other outdoor after school activities. •As students are dismissed, staff will be on hand to instruct students not to look directly at the sun and to monitor as they exit the building. The eclipse may occur during dismissal time. RCS asks parents to reinforce the dangers of looking at the sun and to remind their children not to look directly at the sun on their way home from school on Monday, April 8, 2024. We appreciate your understanding and support during this unique learning experience and ask that you talk with your children about the eclipse prior to school on Monday, April 8.

Let's go out with a bang! The 4th 9 weeks attendance incentive runs from 03/20/2024 - 04/26/2024. Students must achieve greater than 92% attendance rate for the 4th 9 weeks. Allowing students to miss 2 days. Student must have attended the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd 9 wks incentives in order to attend the 4th 9 weeks incentive.

The Mountaineer Mobile Food Pantry will be distributing food today from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley. FYI! It is best to arrive at 10:30 A.M. as the distribution is a drive through process. The address for the stadium is 200 Stadium Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
